history1 Mr. Lesley Vance has been serving the needs of this community for over 40 years. He began his career in funeral service in 1958. In 1972 Mr. Vance became the owner of Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, AL and in 1984 he opened a new funeral home in Columbus, GA. Most recently, in 2002, Mr. Vance partnered with his daughter and son-in-law, Carmen and Lance Brooks, and opened a new facility on Macon Road in Columbus, GA. The new facility has a new name, Vance-Brooks Funeral Home.

Lance and Carmen are proud to be partners in Vance-Brooks Funeral Home. Carmen has worked in the funeral industry for many years, on the other hand, it is relatively new experience for Lance. Mr. Brooks is a graduate of Auburn University and Jefferson State history2Community College. He left a career in the environmental engineering field to become a part of the family business. They are raising three boys and hope that one day each of them will join the family business. Mr. Brooks is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Columbus and the Columbus SERTOMA Club.

Vance-Brooks Funeral Home is and will continue to be one of the few locally owned and operated funeral homes in this community. If you’re like most people, whether buying a new car or hiring a landscaping company, you find it is nicer to work with a locally owned company. You like the flexibility and the personal service you get when you can talk directly with the owner. We feel the same way at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home.
